Admit it—your dog is your best friend. You want to take him with you everywhere. Head to New York City, one of the most pet friendly cities. At The Benjamin Hotel your dog gets treated like a celebrity. Depending on his size, each pet gets a bed—small dogs gets a sofa bed, and orthopedic beds are available for small medium and large dogs. Unlike many other hotels there’s no pet fee. Just contact the hotel prior to your arrival.
What makes this hotel so special? Many things—first of all dogs also receive a ceramic food and water bowl and extra sheets. Your dog won’t go hungry with specialized dog food, and even a good DVD, to keep your dog occupied while you’re out enjoying the city.

Another pet friendly hotel in New York is the W hotel. At check-in, your pet will be treated to a toy, pet treat, pet bed, W Hotels pet tag, and cleanup bags. Keep in mind there is a $100 fee for cleaning as well as an additional $25 fee each day. Some other pet friendly hotels include the Waldorf Astoria, the London, the Loews Regency, the SoHo and Tribeca Grand Hotels, the Carlyle and The Hilton Times Square. Once it becomes dark, your dog doesn’t have to be stuck alone in the hotel all day.
Bring him with you to Von, an adorable bar located on the lower east side that is extremely dog friendly. The owner even has a dog that roams freely around the bar. Upstairs is perfect for grabbing a drink with old friends and downstairs is a great spot to dance it up with your pet. Try some of their specialty cocktails including Hot Rum cider, Hot Toddy, or the Mission.
For a deal come between five and seven on weekdays and between three and five on weekends. Fred’s is another pet-friendly restaurant located on the upper west side. On Tuesday nights play trivia. Dogs are only allowed in certain areas of the restaurant so keep that in mind.
