New York City is called home by many celebrities. Whether they have one of their several houses in Manhattan or are just there for a few months on a movie shoot, here are the places you are mostly likely to have a star encounter.
Top socialites would never be caught wearing the same thing twice, so solve that problem with a little shopping. Upscale department stores such as Henri Bendel and Barneys offer everything from red carpet ready Manolos to million dollar Cartier diamonds that drip perfectly from any ear, neck or wrist. Frequent shoppers include Halle Berry and Victoria Beckham. These designer goodies may be out of your price range, but there is no admission to enter and browse the racks. Was that Lady Gaga?
In the mood for a $500 hair cut? Who isn’t! Serge Normant at the John Frieda Salon has trimmed the tresses of Julia Roberts, Sarah Jessica Parker, Renee Zellweger and Julianne Moore. Try and get an appointment with Normant for star treatment and a sneak peak of his celebrity filled waiting room. Now that your hair is perfect, you will need glowing skin to match. The posh Susan Ciminelli Day Spa is where you will find Naomi Campbell, Jennifer Lopez, Dita Von Teese and Shakira in line for a seaweed wrap.
Exhausted from a long day of photo shoots, celebrities are off to be wined and dined. Fancy sushi hot spot Nobu has served rolls to hundreds of famous faces including, Tom Cruise, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Kate Winslet and Robert DeNiro. All booked up? Try Cipriani Downtown where the rich and famous mingle with top models all night long.
Filming is done and it’s time to party! Celebrities love to see and be seen at their favorite night clubs. They may be roped off behind red velvet protection, but you may get close enough for a picture. If you can't get enough of reality royalty, the Kardashians have been known to frequent The Darby and The Juliet Supper Club. At Juliet you can also frequently spot Rihanna. Angels & Kings, a bar co-owned by rocket Pete Wentz, has celebrity clientele including Tommy Hilfiger and Kate Bosworth. Butter has hosted the Olsen Twins, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. Beyonce has also been known to cut up their dance floor.
