Chicago is one of the world’s biggest and most important financial centers, is the third-biggest city in America and is the hometown of President Barack Obama. Walk up and down the famous Magnificent Mile, located on Michigan Avenue, where the best restaurants, shopping, hotels and historical landmarks are. Rest and relax in the famous Millennium Park, where beautiful fountains and art will dazzle your eyes. At night, entertain yourself at the many jazz and blues clubs or take in a show at a historic theater. A trip to Chicago would not be complete without tasting the varied cuisine that city has to offer, such as its famous deep-dish pizza. Chicago is a destination for businessman, history buffs and families alike. Jews have been settling in Chicago ever since the mid 1800s and their backgrounds are primarily from Eastern Europe and Germany. Today, Jews are primarily of the Reform and Conservative movements, with a small percentage who are Orthodox.
