Israel Has an Appetite for Veggies and Sweets

A recent OECD survey found that Israelis are generally healthy eaters who still know how to indulge. The survey, which compared food consumption in 25 developed countries, showed that Israelis eat an average of 435.6 pounds of vegetables per person per year. Israel fell third in this ranking behind Greece and Turkey. But the survey also showed that the average Israeli consumes 85.5 pounds of chocolate and candy every year, once again third behind Luxembourg and Mexico.
