Adam Lambert is Not the New Freddie Mercury (VIDEO)

Friday was awash in the news that Adam Lambert was named the new frontman for Queen. Turns out the Daily Star forgot to check their facts, and even Rolling Stone believed them.

While Lambert is in talks to perform with Queen again, nothing has been said about him joining the band on a permanent basis. The star tweeted:

Hollywood Records, Queen's recording label, issued a statement through Rolling Stone for the rest of humanity not plugged into the Twitterverse: "The Daily Star item only mentions that Adam may perform with Queen at Sonisphere. This is not confirmed. Nothing has been signed. However, if this were to happen, Queen would be returning to the setting of their final concert with Freddie Mercury, which took place in 1986."

Glamberts everywhere are giving in to their dark sides in pain—which may, in fact, be the point. With “Trespassing” coming out in March and trippy single “Better Than I Know Myself” releasing on YouTube last week, this Queen controversy has certainly stirred up a lot of publicity for the vocalist. We’re not saying it was a leak, but it does look a little fishy.

J-Connection: Adam Lambert is a Jewish through his mother, but identifies as a Jew by culture, and has performed several times in Hebrew. The mensch couldn’t tell a lie, but have his PR drones fostered one to bring his name back into the news?
