US gymnast Alexandra Raisman pulled a major upset over the weekend when she beat out Olympic favorite Jordyn Wieber for a spot in the Women's All Around final.
Jewish-American Raisman, 18, came in second behind Russian gymnast Viktoria Komova, with fellow US teammate Gabby Douglas placing third. As per qualifying rules, only two athletes per team can advance to the finals, meaning Wieber, who was favored for gold, won't get a chance to continue.
As part of her winning routine, Raisman drew on her Jewish heritage to perform a floor routine to the tune of "Hava Nagila." Watch the official NBC video of Raisman's performance by following this link.
J-Connection: Aly Raisman was raised in a Jewish home in Massachussetts.
