Soccer stunner David Beckham will strip off his clothes for you, but he will not be happy about it.
At least that’s the message of his new ad campaign for H&M Bodywear. Once you’ve gandered the package area—we dare you not to look—bring your eyes north and contemplate that Blue Steel stare. It’s a bit menacing, no?
There’s something off about the whole look, actually. The body is fantastic, no question, but the tilt of the head, the swoop of the hair, the general moodiness that pervades the pictures … it doesn’t really fit the whole sexy underwear ad vibe. Beckham actually looks like he’s about to Hulk out at any moment.
Maybe it’s the fact that the line of boxers, briefs and undershirts took Beckham and an in-house creative team 18 months to design. The collection, available in February, is supposed to focus on “fit, function, comfort and design.”
Beckham could take a note from Bar Refaeli and add some fun into the equation. Maybe then he could flash us a sexy smile.
