Greece Joins Annual Noble Dina Military Exercise with US, Israel

Greece has joined Israel and the US in conducting a joint aeronautical exercise in the Mediterranean Sea, which Greek media reports is a thinly veiled message to Turkey.

The annual Noble Dina exercise, from March 26 to April 5, will simulate air-to-air combat and anti-submarine warfare. The Greek Reporter wrote Wednesday the drill confronts enemies that “bear great resemblance to the Turkish aeronautical forces in this particular military operation scenario.”

Greece joined Noble Dina in 2011. Last year, Noble Dina included eight vessels, two submarines, several helicopters and aircraft and four Greek F-16 Block 52 combat jets. This year, Greece is participating in the drill with combat jets, a frigate and one submarine, according to the report.
