The Israeli Defense Forces has launched a Facebook campaign to spread awareness about the recent rocket fire from Gaza. A photo of rockets being launched from Gaza reading “50 Rockets Hit Israel in the last three days,” posted to the IDF’s wall yesterday, urges users to share the message because “the mainstream media will not.”

In just over 24 hours, the photo has received almost 8,000 likes and been shared more than 43,000 times. Some of the 2,000 comments express frustration and criticism of Israel for engaging militarily with Gaza, while others hope for peace. Most engage in a dialogue about the origins of the conflict and need for violence.
