Got $20,000 you'd like to donate to a good cause? Do you have pictures of Ben Stiller on your walls? Your ceiling? In your hope chest?
Stiller is auctioning off a walk-on role in his new comedy, "Neighborhood Watch," to some eager fan/stalker/crazed rich person who thinks they could really be a star, you know, if someone just gave them a chance because this one time in middle school they were great as Romeo and everyone gave them flowers and raved about their composure at such a young age and...
You get the idea.
This is a terrific move by Stiller. The chance to act alongside him and co-stars Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill will be raising money for the Stiller Foundation, which helps provide education for underprivileged children around the world.
Still, are we the only ones who were hoping proceeds would go to the The Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too?
J-Connection: Though his mother was an Irish Catholic, she converted to reform Judaism, so we’re proud to call Ben Stiller a New York City Jew. He's never been too neurotic, but he still plays the flustered Gene Wilder roles so well! His co-star, Jonah Hill, obviously has sworn off brisket with his recent weight loss, but he is Jewish, too!
