Iran can destroy 35 US military bases and hit Israel within moments of an attack on its soil, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards aerospace division said.

Brig.-Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh told the official Iranian FARS news agency that: "All these bases are within the reach of our missiles. Meantime, the occupied [Palestinian] lands are good targets for us as well."

On Tuesday, the Revolutionary Guard Aerospace Force began a massive missile drill, firing dozens of short, mid- and long-range missiles at a single target in central Iran, meant to represent US bases in the area, according to FARS.

Iran has also threatened to block the Straits of Hormuz, through which 40 percent of the world's oil supply passes.
