Israeli Beauty Product Breaks Retail Records

No!no! Hair, an Israeli startup, is breaking retail records, selling more than 260,000 units through a home shopping network, with three million units sold worldwide. The numbers soared after no!no! Hair was featured in a July 4 event led by beauty expert Jennifer Crawford and soap opera star Kassie DePaiva.

The 24-hour event ended with no!no! Hair's Totally Tangerine and Pink Power limited edition hair devices selling out, with an on-screen counter displaying more than 41,000 units sold for $249.95 each.

Leading manufacturers and developers at Radiancy, Inc., a subsidiary of Photomedex and a global leader for medical and aesthetic light-based systems, established no!no! Hair using Thericon technology for longer-lasting, pain-free hair removal. Thericon uses heat to rapidly remove unwanted hair of all types and colors, also reducing regrowth.

Shares in Photomedex Inc rose rapidly when the company announced that it broke the beauty sales record.

"Home shopping television has been an extremely important contributor to no!no!'s growing success and it has been an amazing ride getting to where we are today," said Dr. Dolev Rafaeli, CEO of Photomedex and president and CEO of Radiancy Inc. "We, at Radiancy are always pushing ourselves to break barriers and we will continue to do that together with our partners in television."

Photomedex reported 2012 first quarter sales at $50 million, with a sales cost of $11 million. These numbers include the no!no! Hair removal and refills, as well as other skincare products. The unisex product was designed in Israel by Ilona Lev and David Rawet of Raved Designs.
