Who doesn’t love a cold brew at the end of a hard day of work? Conan, apparently. And we’re not speaking of our favorite ginger Conan O'brien. We are, of course, talking about Conan the Barbarian.

In his previous television roles as Ronon Dex on Stargate: Atlantis and Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, actor Jason Momoa preferred to down a six-pack to ease away the day. But as the titular character in the new Warner Brother’s picture, which is not related to the films featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Momoa had to maintain such body mass that he couldn’t engage in that most sacred American pastime.

For the blockbuster role, Momoa switched to a special diet of whiskey and chicken, “because beer makes you bigger.” Explains the actor, “I had to eat boiled chicken breast every two hours. It's like wet cardboard." But surely the box office take of the supernatural action flick will be worth more than a few cans of Bud.

J-Connection: While Jason gets his good looks from his German Irish mother and native Hawaiian father, his wife and fellow actor Lilakoi Moon (who professionally goes by Lisa Bonet) is of Jewish stock.
