Natalie Portman’s headed to the Wild West, a not-too-far cry from her desert days in Israel.

Rumors are circulating that the “Black Swan” actress will star in a modern western film, called “Jane Got a Gun.” Currently in Cannes for the film festival, Natalie is reportedly negotiating with prospective backers to seal the deal.

The plot centers on a woman whose ne’er do well husband has an angry mob out looking for him. Of course, Natalie’s character comes to the rescue, which is where we imagine the “Gun” part of the title comes in.

If the deal goes through, maybe Natalie can train with some IDF buddies, to get a little pistol practice in before filming starts.
