Israel Honors Arab Soccer Legend Walid Badir

Two Israeli soccer legends, both members of Israel’s national team, retired this weekend: Nir Davidovich and Walid Badir. The players ended their respective careers with a match against each other Saturday night, earning an emotional standing ovation from the crowds. Rate of Jewish Birth Increases in Israel, While Arab Rates Decline

Jewish rates of birth grew in Israel in 2011, while Arab birth rates declined. The news was announced this week by Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics, which also stated that 75.4 percent of Israel’s nearly 8 million population is Jewish. Jewish women averaged 2.98 births in 2011, as compared to 2.53 in 1995. Among Muslim women, the figure was at 3.51 in 2011, as opposed to 4.74 in 2000. 9 Jewish Teens Arrested in 'Lynch' on Arab Victims

Nine Jewish youths have been arrested in connection with an attack on three Arab teens. The August 16 attack took place in Jerusalem and was labeled a “lynch” by police, due to the many onlookers who stood by and watched the assault take place. An attack by Jewish youths on at least three Arab teens is being called a “lynch” by Israeli police.
