Israeli Company Tracks Your Online Behavior To Protect Your Privacy

Avner Meyrav, NoCamels - Israel Innovation News The hacking of the Associated Press’ Twitter account just a few days ago—a false tweet said the White House had been hit by two explosions and that Barack Obama was injured--is more proof, if any was needed, that password-protection offers little… protection. While many online companies, such as Facebook and Google, have introduced steps such as two-step verification to protect our personal information, these are still easy to bypass for …More

A writer struggles with inspiration. Then, a chance moment of synergy with a barista in a hipster coffee shop provides a muse. He is obsessed. He has found the perfect woman. He decides to craft himself into the perfect man for her. If “A Case of You” already sounds like a combination of “Ruby Sparks,” “Silver Linings Playbook,” and every other indie-aspiring romantic comedy you’ve seen lately, you’re not wrong. Nothing is terribly unique about director Kat …More

The Search for A7734: A Twin’s Hope to Find His Brother

And his brother still hopes to meet him.” Over the last two and a half weeks, the post and faded picture of a chubby cheeked little boy have been shared nearly 6,000 times on Facebook pages throughout the world. Although no clues have helped the search for Jolli, …More

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and His Manager: Unlikely Teammates on Jewish-Black Relations

Dawn Dellasanta-Swann, JNS.org Standing behind the podium of the 2013 NAACP Image Awards is a man in a tux with a red tie whose smooth, dark skin is stretched over a frame so long that it cannot fit through a standard doorway. Behind the same podium, a woman comes up to maybe the bottom of that man’s ribcage. She is fair skinned, black haired, ruby lipped, and sheathed in black lace. She looks like a Jewish Snow White. He is the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) all-time leading scorer, an …More

An Israeli hacker has helped Facebook uphold its security standards—for the second time this year. Nir Goldshlager is an employee at the Israeli cyber security company Avnet. In his work, Goldshlager attempts to breach security holes on a Web site’s operating platform, to help the site close up outstanding loopholes. In 2011, he made it onto Facebook’s “hall of fame,” named the second best hacker of the year. He made the first place spot in 2012, and is taking the title again for …More

Making Aliyah for the IDF: Immigration Experience Through Service

Arielle Adler wasn’t born in Israel, but that didn’t stop her from making the Jewish state her homeland. Adler immigrated from the US in 2011 and joined the Israeli armed forces, a story the IDF shared today via Facebook. “When Cpl. Arielle Adler made aliyah in 2011, she was constantly told that her Zionist vision was naive and that she would become jaded after seeing the real Israel,” the IDF said. “She disagreed — and it shows…Israel is stronger because of people …More
