As temperatures soar, animals at the Ramat Gan Safari in Tel Aviv are beating the heat with icy treats. Tigers prefer blood popsicles, while other animals, such as bears and monkeys, indulge in fruit and fish flavored pops. Bloomberg Staff Has Green Friendly Plan to Beat NYC Heat

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s aides recently tried an unusual experiment. Surrounded by onlookers, the mayor’s staff lifted a room-sized air conditioner into the mayor’s SUV to see if it would fit. The plan, if approved by the Bloomberg, is to use the household cooling unit to chill the mayor’s vehicles during sweltering summer days.
