New Institute Seeks to Consolidate the Growing Field of Israel Studies

Sean Savage, JNS.org In response to the Jewish community’s concern with the growth of anti-Israel bias and pro-Palestinian sympathies on college campuses, the field of Israel Studies has grown dramatically over the past decade. Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod has announced a new non-partisan institute of politics at the University of Chicago, which he will head in 2013 after the close of the presidential election. "If years from now I run across young people who have participated in this Institute who are now writers and staffers and yes, candidates, we'll have done our job well," Axelrod said.
