Israel 25th Best Place in World to be a Mother

Israeli mothers are in a better than average position compared to global comparisons. The Jewish state was recently ranked the 25th best nation for mothers, in a report by the UK’s Save the Children. The Mothers’ Index, as it is called, ranked the UK at 23 and the US at 30. Factors like child mortality rates, maternal mortality, education, economics and women’s employment in government were considered in making the designations. Study: Doctors Should Set Personal Example With Medical Procedures

The study showed that if doctors undergo a certain medical procedure, which they then also recommend to their patients, patients are more likely to go through with it themselves. Study: Dutch Bounty Hunters Preyed on Jews During Holocaust

Dozens of Dutchmen preyed on Jews for cash during the Holocaust, according to a new study. According to the research by Pinchas Bar Efrat, 82, as many as 80 bounty hunters roamed the Netherlands during the German occupation during World War II. Led by two men, Wim Henneicke and Willem Briede, the bounty hunters were paid by authorities five guilders for every Jew they brought in, the equivalent of a week’s pay for unskilled laborers.
