US Delegates Named to Warsaw Ghetto Commemoration

Top US officials who deal with the Holocaust will represent the United States at the 70th anniversary commemoration of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. President Obama appointed the delegation, which will be led by Stephen Mull, the US ambassador to Poland, on Tuesday for the commemoration to be held three days later. Taglit Brings Millions to Israeli Economy

Since its first trip in 2000, Taglit-Birthright Israel has contributed more than $535 million to Israel’s economy, the organization announced Sunday. The free 10-day trips to Israel have brought more than 280,000 young Jews from more than 50 countries to the Jewish State. Taglit has conducted more than 7,100 trips to Israel, filling more than 2.2 million hotel beds and spending more than $75 million at gift and souvenir shops. 20K Participated in Summer Birthright

Nearly 20,000 young people took a Taglit-Birthright trip to Israel last summer, touring the country through a free 10-day trip. More than 40,000 Jewish young adults in North America alone applied for the summer trip slots, a record number of applicants.
